I fitted one to mine but I used a relay to disconnect it from the battery when the ignition is off. If you use the bike daily it's not a problem but there's enough current drain to flatten the battery after a week or so.

Halfords stores are still open, at least their website says they are and I'm hoping so as the bike pump for my push bike broke and I need to go tomorrow so I can get out on the bikes with my youngest

Have you got a link to these please? I've bought a couple of sets in the past and they don't fit.

I got one with a switch on it for this reason. The other option is to fit the traditional "cigarette lighter" din type socket and plug a USB adaptor in when you want to use it and unplg it when not in use. Bit of a faff though. I might still fit a relay. I have one I was going to use for the heated grips, but they're the Oxford intelligent ones so they don't really need one.

Your journey is more essential than mine. I don't think hooking up a power supply on a bike I only use for short commutes at the moment is vital. I've tucked the cables out of the way for now. If I'm near one for other reasons I might call in.

Couldn't you just use some old flex?

I've got fag socket to put on mine at somepoint this covid season.

Chain cleaned and lubed.
Coolant top-up.
Checked tyre pressures.
Started & ran for five minutes.

Not much, but enough to keep things ticking over!

When you say they don't fit do you mean they don't fit in the bulb holders or they're too long etc? It's been a while since I fitted leds or even had my clocks apart

The end that plugs into the holder is too fat and spreads the holder just far enough that it won't go back into the hole in the panel.
