That's a great description of Gt Yarmouth, its the east coast version of Blackpool, which is where I think you are, or Morcambe

Yep Blackpool. In the winter gardens to be exact. I wouldn't normally venture there but my sister bought us afternoon tea in the ballroom. Which was actually quite nice. Lots of older folk (I'm still 25) dancing to the tunes from a Wurlitzer organ. And the organ did disappear into the stage at the end.

The history and architecture of the Winter Gardens are amazing. Last time we were there we missed out on a guided tour which was annoying.

It's having a bit of a refurb at the moment, but the main atrium looked fab, lots of photos taken.

Yes, I’ve noticed there are lots of poppies at the moment - particularly on ground that has been disturbed (building and so on). Maybe it is the warm and wet weather?
