Hey Guys,

does anyone know of any websites which tell you where motorbike parks are?

3 days of owning a SV650 and loving it

Cheers

Can you be a bit more specific mate? In what location? However, i dont think that there is a 'map' but im sure that there is someone on here local to where you want to park that will know the best places.

Try here:

http://www.parkingforbikes.com/

This site used to have one big map of the city with all the bays on it, but it seems they want you to pay now. However, I think I got a copy of it on my computer at home, so if that's no good I'll upload the better map this evening.

Get one of the a-z's that have the parking bays marked on it - It's well worth £3. I bought mine at Metropolis in Vauxhall.

as long as your not in central london you should be able to park in residents and pay and display bay's aswell but do your homework!

If your looking for places to park regularly, check with the local council for their policy on bikes and parking. Best advice find a very secure lampost and/or other immovable object and chain your bike to it.

Can be frustrating to begin with as I found but you soon pick up on the better places even if you do have to walk further to work.

If you're looking for motorcycle bays in Central London, then this is THE map to have:

http://www.bbc.co.uk/london/congestion/bike_park.html

be careful, it's a very large (3Mb+) JPG!

I have a laminated copy on my tank bag - VERY useful!

I live in a CPZ in Islington and you can't park bikes on the road here - which is why my front garden is usually full of SVs. toby lives 2 streets away and the restrictions are completely different there, so check very caferully.

If you choose the parking on the pavement option, I'd highly recommend removing your plate as they can and will remove bikes and you'll have no idea whether it's been nicked or impounded. Westminster are particularly good at this.

hope this is helpful in a roundabout way!
