My stock Exhaust system - scrap or can be saved?

Hello guys.

Recently i have acquired my very own SV650s SY ( I think its model of year 2000?) which requires some work.

Eventually i took exhaust system off, since header pipe joint looked really rusted out.


I cleaned area up, witch was a mess, and removed rust. And found cracks on front header pipe. Thin hair-like cracks, both inside and outside of the pipe.



One exhaust side of the pipe there is big crack, bit bigger the half of its circumference.




Other than that exhaust system is in good shape.

Question is: Is there a point to reinforce these pipes with welding or other method... or get second-hand pipes in better shape.

If it is a option - I live down South-east, if anyone is willing to weld them for me. For a price of course

Since i want to do it right 1st time and not to worry about it in a year or two down the line. I will clean rust further if they are to be saved.

they are toast. get some good condition second hand ones off the bay.
