Where does your rev needle live on your SV?
I've been experimenting with riding my pointy through London traffic to help with fuel consumption and it got me thinking about how hard everyone revs their SV. So I thought I'd start a thread. Obviously revs will different depending on rider and environment but was curious.
I normally have mine at around 3.5-4k in London traffic No fibs please! |

Re: Where does your rev needle live on your SV?
Totally depends on the situation, tbh I don't pay a lot of attention to it. I just stay in a gear which is appropriately responsive.
On the SV it was a case of always keeping it 4+ Druid

Re: Where does your rev needle live on your SV?
When i first passed my test i used to keep them really low, 3-4k, but i think at times that was making riding more difficult.
Unless im in town now its usually 6-8k (8k for a girl is a most pleasurable experience ) but obviously its even higher than that when im 'stretching my legs' |

In speed limited areas (ie 30's, 40's etc) then about 4k. In NSL's then normally close to the red line.

Re: Where does your rev needle live on your SV?
Normally somewhere between 3000 - 4000 revs around town .... plenty of power there at low speeds .....
I never really used that many revs on the SV full stop ..... apart from the occasional blast, never more than about 7,000 revs ..... where as the ER6 I regually take to the red line ..... not sure why ... |

Re: Where does your rev needle live on your SV?
I tend to potter about at 3-4k if i'm in a hurry i'll tend to change up @ 7.5k cos i don't find too much power after that.
