The 98 SRAD GSXR-750 is the bike that made me a bike obsessive, I shall own a 750 one if these days

I hate to ask but, was it fun?

(If say yes I'm going to be jealous, if you say no I'll think you insane )

edit: Just noticed its in the anniversary livery as well

Yes it was fun! What an awesome machine...the power just does not stop. It feels like your riding the bike on its nose all the time, and the turn-in is so much different from the SV's. The suspension is far superior and the BRAKES! Well, they just don't compare. The front wheel lifts very easily under acceleration and when you think you've hit the red line you still have at least 5k rpm left to go before you actually start red lining. I was very very shocked when I was doing 65 and I was still in 1st gear.

And then to round the afternoon off I played 9 holes of golf with a friends dad...What an awesome day I've had

Well, well, well. Ditto. Having tried every dealer in Essex, Jdubya was kind enough to let me know that Laguna's in Maidstone had a 750 on demo. So, on Tuesday I went and was allowed 2 hours of fun fun fun

Everything Jdub says is true. The acceleration was like going into hyperspace - the scenery went all blurry (I'm sure my watch had lost a few milliseconds when I got back). The brakes were beyond belief. And the NOISE! I didn't think I liked the sound of IL4s, but this thing sounded gorgeous. And yet it was completely docile in town. As a test I put it in 6th gear at 30mph on an incline and it didn't complain at all. Pulled like a train, in fact.

I got back on the SV and it felt like a barge. Really

The pull of the dark side, strong is it. I had felt obliged to try an SV1000, but I don't think I'll bother now.

But the K6 is nigh (with anti-chav exhaust and indicators), and that, I think, will be the one for me

Dont be so hard on yerself! My dreams of riding the beast permanently have been well and trully quashed by the bank balance, the missus and the insurance on the gixxer Looks like it may have to be a late k6 or k7 for me then (Unless I win the lottery or summat)
