Managed to get out for a run with my wife yesterday - unfortunately not a very common thing due to the 3 kids.
But they were with the grandparents.

10.40 miles.

Made it out for an early morning 5.7 miles with a mate at 7.30 this morning. Beautiful crisp, clear morning run out and back along the river to Pontllogel.Certainly helped to shift some of the crap from the cold I have which broke last night, and some of the crap going round in my head!

Dolanog - Pontllogel out and back.

The relive bit

What a week! Back from holiday, I had a massive bout of food poisoning on Tuesday/Wednesday - lost 8lb over night. Recovered now, but probably weakened from it. But, I had 20 miles on my plan and gave it a go - big mistake. I can barely walk now.

Ran 6 miles to parkrun, plus parkrun, but had to walk the three miles home. I have a 30 mile "race" in four weeks, which I'm really not up for.

I'm now seriously considering giving up this running lark, or at least running to a schedule.

Don’t give it up but do expect to reduce in both distance and frequency if you are unwell. That sounds like a really nasty bout of food poisoning and I would personally have waited till I was properly recovered before running.

Ease back into it and you’ll be fine. Don’t be afraid to drop the race if you aren’t ready for it, no sense in completely wrecking your body for a race.

Thanks. You're right, but it's like dominos at the moment. If I miss one, the next would be missed too, etc. I'm just going to take things as they come.

I got out for a run yesterday morning, it was a tad blustery. The return leg to the club house was brutal. 1/2 Marathon before breakfast.

Daktulos, take it easy.

Just under 6 miles out and back on Wednesday with a friend. Nice morning for a run.

The Relive thing.

Made it out on an 8.5 mile run with lots of hills! Social run with members of Canicross Clwyd. Very enjoyable afternoon in excellent company.

I've not posted here in a while because I've hardly been running due to ankle and knee problems. So, I was woefully underprepared for the 30 mile race yesterday.

A really pretty course, but due to the flooding, some of the paths were waist-deep in water last week. Thankfully it had all receded, but left an unimaginable level of mud to get through. Anyway, I survived and finished before the 9-hour cutoff.

I'm going to take a few weeks off now!

Daktulos, well done. Epic distance.

Today I ran the Cambridge Half with my wife. It was a nice if slightly conjested run. 15,000 runners.

1 hour 49 mins and 55 secs.
