Which is easiest panel to remove? - SV650.org

Couldn't figure out how to remove the seat plastics, got them loose but couldn't see how to get at the screw holding the black centre piece behind them off as its obstructed by the rear light so asking which is the easiest panel to remove? I have a hugger with 4 bolts but one is rounding off so cannot get that one off. Wanted to take a piece to my painter tomorrow.

front mudgaurd I'd say (if you don't have a seat cowl that is)

If curvy

Remove both seats then undo grab rail if you have one if no grab rail remove blanking blocks. Undo 4 bolts holding plastics to rear sub frame these are under the seats. Pull fairing away from the bike near the front seat so the nipple hidden inside comes out of its rubber hole. Then were the grab rail or blanking blocks are pull the plastics up off the metal rod. When all lose pull plastics apart to remove them from the bike.

Once off turn plastics over and there is two small screws holding the black bit on.

If ur still stuck and this is a curvy ill upload pictures tommor night as I will be doing this.

Pictures

If a curvy...

Remove both seats

Then remove grab rail - or blanking blocks and 4 bolts

Pull plastic away from bike to remove nipple (do on both sides near rider seat)

Pull plastics up over metal rod were the grab rail or blanking blocks bolted down

Pull plastics away from bike and up. .... Be nice

Then turn plastics over to find two screws holding the black bit on

Job done

Thanks for all the advice, my painter is doing me a sample to check against, hopefully it'll match or I'll remove as per the pics and take it to him. Itching to get the lowers done and on

Nicky, pics and advice were a huge help thanks, job done, just a case of knowing what is where etc. It still wouldn't budge so torch out and found mine had 2 little screws (you can see the holes on your last pic just below where the black piece screws on) running through the rear mudguard.

On either model, if totally standard, there are 2 screws up undenetah the rear mud guard. Alway catch me out when working on standard bikes.

Ohhh yer. Sorry I left the two under the rear which hold up the mud guard. But I don't have them lol

Also two little screws at the rear of the riders seat which hold the plastics together.
