It takes 4 weeks for dvla to update their system to show a colour change. I may find it rubs off around my knees and remove it all before then.

Mirrors have arrived and don't look corroded at all. I went with Matt black though.

The tail of the bike seems to have got an air bubble from a gap at the cowl infill so looks like it'll get peeled off and I'll do something different.

So glad I didn't instantly inform dvla as id need to wait 4 weeks to get my v5 and resubmit it to be silver again which would take another 4 weeks.

Why not register as R? R = Multi-Coloured (For vehicles with 3 or more colours)

From
DVLA Colour Codes
Colour Code Description on Registration Certificate /Other colours incorporated
S Beige / Buff
P Black
J Blue
B Bronze
A Brown
V Cream / Ivory
G Gold
H Green
L Grey
T Maroon
K Purple / Mauve, Violet
E Orange
D Pink
C Red
M Silver / Aluminium
U Turquoise
N White
F Yellow
R Multi-Coloured (For vehicles with 3 or more colours)

Note: Where a vehicle has 2 colours, both colour descriptions and codes should be entered on the V55 form,
e.g. Beige and Cream = Coded as SV.

Click on for video of her getting her kit off!

Magically, its making its way back to silver,
but it won't all be silver, but i'll make sure the majority isn't orange as to cause issues.

Going from experience with changing the colour of the bike through DVLA, I agree it needs doing but I've never had any issues. I've had two SV's now both were blue that got sprayed Orange... I sent the form off the dvla and they ignored it and sent it back as being blue, on three occasions. The last one was sent with a cover note and dated/ signed etc, still no luck.

every time I've been pulled they've questioned it but always sent me on my way. I just cut them off and make a joke of 'yeh I know youre gunna tell me it's supposed to be blue'.

So yeh, do it.. but it isn't the be all and end all, least not for the bobbys round here (this has happened on about 6/7 occasions?)

I took my old Sv650 (registered Red) from white fairings to black plasti dip, rode every day for 8 months. Never had any issues.

next part of project, project comfy bum!
I bought a spare k3 seat for a member on here,
also bought myself a gel pad,

I used a breadknife to cut into it,

then recovered and stapled,

it looks not bad i'd say.
Bum test will happen soon just not tonight!

Link to the plasti dip
http://www.plastidip.co.uk/shop/plas...aze-collection

I'm still going to have orange on the bike just not full bike orange.

Well Someone is a fanny,
yeah thats me!

I really should have fitted the seat on the bike before making it into a gel seat.
It doesn't line up.

This is annoying as the bike reg is a 54 reg, but according to all the documentation, its actually a k3.
but the seat i got from another member was for a k3.

So unless its a very early k4 with parts saying k3

Now do i butcher my current seat and this one and make a correct gel seat,
or do i sell gel seat and buy another spare and repeat?

Yours is definitely a K4. It has the bend in the subframe, and the different shape of black diamonds.

This is a K3
