That's a really nice looking bike love the colour and the exhaust looks great - come on Suzuki, things are looking up for your devoted followers.

Would like to see a picture of it with wire wheels just to finish of the 'retro' look perfectly.

It's nice to see a proper SV again. I still think Suzuki messed up big time with the Gladius and lost a lot of sales in the process. Where's the faired SV, that always sold better than the naked.

So this takes a step closer to production:

What do people think ?
It's just a styling excercise but does have the advantage of being a nice-looking styling excercise, imo of course.
I imagine that like the Yamaha XSR700 vs the MT-07, it will come at a price.

It looks nice enough but I'd still like to see an updated S version.

Retro is a big market at the moment - my Bonneville being right up there as a prime example. Triumph have an ever increasing range of "Modern Classics" and several have waiting lists. Not everyone's cup of Darjeeling but other marques are already selling 70s throwback models which middle aged morons like me quite like. I just decided to go back in time, styling wise, another two decades this time around.

'Modern classics' are about the only retro I'd be interested in - ie modern handling, ride quality, engine tech & the 'retro' part is just the styling.
That said, this doesn't feel to me totally retro - like the XSR700, it's got some new elements or at least a combination of ingredients that hasn't quite been seen before.

Doesn't look enough like a different model, just a standard SV with some bolt on accessories.
Very unimpressive.

At least give it a proper seat, side panels and decent mudguards.
Twin shocks would be nice too.

That's what I like about my T100: FI, ABS, traction control, wonderful engine that seems to have few mechanical issues per the Trumpet forums, modern touches like fly-by-wire throttle and suspension that works. Makes me laugh that it is water cooled for noise and emissions regs but the standard exhaust is quite loud.

I've had my naked SV for a while now and have been looking at what's out there. Decided I like so much of what the SV does well that I was going to go for a new style SV. We don't have a Suzuki dealer around here, only Yamaha. But, after reading another thread about moving on from the SV, and Yamaha bikes were talked about, I popped into see them. I now have Yamaha XSR900 anniversary model. It's a modern retro/neo-retro type. I reckon I would have jumped at the SV650X if it had been available.
