ECE sticker
Just bought one of these (for the wife obviously)
http://www.ladiesatmandp.com/proddet...prod=5G03II029 Can't find an ECE sticker - so is it not uk legal? The only code I can find on it is E3 052186/J - 177072 - so should I be sending it back? Will be a bit ****ed off after waiting a week for it if it isnt road legal. Their policy states no helmet returns which is rubbish under distance selling regulations (I hope) |

Re: ECE sticker
Just found this on a website so appears its ok legally- though obviously I wont be wearing it myself.
"First off you should see an E in a circle, followed by the approving country: E1 is Germany, E3 is Italy and E11 is England etc. Then you're looking for a serial number: this should start 05 if it's ECE R22.05 compliant." |

Re: ECE sticker
That is a standard policy for all M/C lids, distance or not, you take one out the shop and they wont take it back unless its found to have a manufacturing fault, a very rare occasion

Re: ECE sticker
Different if you buy it in the shop, they can't refuse to accept it back from an internet purchase - its the law.

Re: ECE sticker
IIRC if it doesn't meet the BS or ECE regs, it's not a legal a motorcycle helmet and so can't be sold as one. Anyway, have a look here:

Re: ECE sticker
It appear to be legal as the E3-05 is equivalent to ece 22-05, though it is going back or going on ebay because I ordered wrong size XS instead of a medium.

Re: ECE sticker
Just read your post properly - its obviously an import and not stamped up properly so a bit dubious legally. Will just add some ammunition if they start getting awkward about returning it. I am sure I ordered the right size but the email I got does say XS

Re: ECE sticker
I would really think twice about that helmet anyway. Absolutely no protection for the lower half of the face. I wouldn't wear that style of helmet.
