Default Travel to Hovis' Funeral

I know one or two others want to go his funeral. Claire and I will be going on the bike(s). Anyone who wants to join us is welcome to, but I must stress this is not a rideout, but travelling together as mutual support.

Our route will be Shrewsbury, A49 Hereford, A40 Monmouth, A449 Newport, M4, then the meet point.

Shrewsbury meet up will be at Shrewsbury Services (Bayley's Island) on the A5/A49 junction. Meet 8.15 to leave by 8.30, we won't be waiting. Fill up with fuel here, there will not be a fuel stop until we reach the meet point - it is just over 100 miles so everyone will make it. There will be a coffee/butty stop at Hereford ASDA if time allows, because it will be a long day.

If you want to meet up to travel together, then post in here please.

Hello Mike

I would like to attend. Dave always came on anything I organised: this is the last I can do for him.

Any idea what time you might pass through my fair home town?

Ed

Chris and myself would like to attend. However, I will be in Aberystwyth from Monday therefore YC will be picking me up. I assume he would like to ride down with you but as Aber is well out of your way we would meet you at Shrewsbury. I echo Ed's question of what time you would be passing through Shrewsbury?

To get to the meet point by 11:00 (group leaves 11.15) we need to leave mine at 7.00. I think we would be at Shrewsbury about 8.15-8.30, maybe earlier. We will leave Shrewsbury by 8.30. There will be a brew / butty stop in Hereford if time allows.

I know the route well as this is my standard drive to Cardiff, which I can do in 3.15 hours in the car, so expect to do it in 3 hours on the bike. I think it will take a little over 2 hours from Shrewsbury.

Awww can't make it as they won't allow me time off from my driving course

I will be thinking of Dave at midday and I hope you all have a safe journey there and back. My thoughts will be with everyone !

Will be attending as well. Was planning on running down the A49, so makes sense to meet up with everyone so I don't get lost.
