Re: carb balancers
What do you mean by expensive?
Mine cost me £40 and seem to work alright. Can't remember where I got mine from but these are the same ones and the same price. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BIKE-IT-CARB-B...31f451ff3438c3

Re: carb balancers
well i need them fairly soon as it feels like the backs not running right through part of the rev range and a bit clunky on idle.
the two dial version i can pick up for £15 posted |

Re: carb balancers
what dia pipe did you use an what liquid?
im guessing it works by vac pressure pushing both ways along the tube an moving the liquid in between? |

Sucking both ways yep. You just want the level on each side not to change over time. When you first turn it on, one will go up the other down, so kink the cable to stop it being drawn all into the one side until your ready to adjust. Then adjust the balancing screw bit by bit to get fluid movement as close to nil as possible. That video is of mine completed. balanced. The level of the fluid doesn't have to be exact(as long as each side is roughly the same height) but you want no movement from one side to the other. Read the manual regarding procedure. Warm engine and what rpm it needs to be set to etc. If you do make one, my tip is insert the correct amount of oil in one go, if you add oil a second time then one you introduce an air lock and its tricky to get them out! I used a large syringe the first time and it was easy. Im sure a tunnel would be adequate. Good pic of one here. Last edited by beabert; 20-02-11 at 03:28 AM. |
