flat battery-again! - SV650.org

i had a flat battery 10 days ago - had to get the bus ! so i bought a new one . trouble is this ones gone flat too. so maybe it taint battery. any ideas would be most welcome!

Oooohh this one again, do a search for regulator rectifier, you'll find lots on the subject including a few diagnostic posts from yours truly.

I second Sid Squid's Diagnosis

It does sounds like its the regulator rectifier is not charging the battery

I have to know, alternator VS regulator rectifier?! I suppose i should google it.

Either what they said or you're going one past steering lock and leaving your parking light on

I had the same problem...
Bought a second hand reg\rec from a written off SV (cost me R700 cause new ones were R1500) and all my problems are solved..
