Default Liverpool Accommodation

Hi Guys

russg & I are about to head off on a wee trip on the SV, and on 11th June we'll be in Liverpool - so we're looking for some recommendations for accommodation - hotel/B&B etc. Nothing OTT with price, but we do need a secure/private car park. Prefferably near Anfield as we'll be doing the tour.

Cheers

How are you getting there? car or bike?

When I stay I'm lucky as I get Govenment rate at the Radisson, which is by far the best one for our money. Can't stay at the Crown Plaza as it's over our rate.

But Atlantic Tower Thistle has a small but secure car park, otherwise there is a new Jury's Inn which as has good, but pricy multi story right next to it. There's a Premier Inn, Formula 1 & an Ibis not too far away from this multi story either.

The Radisson, Jury's Inn & the Thistle are all ok in that order and the IBIS is cheap. There's a Holiday Inn near Lime Street Station, but parking is not so good I think.

Plus there's the Adelphi, which is impressive inside, but a bit scabby the last time I stayed there. It has a secure car park I think.

As you can see I've spent quite a bit of time in hotels in Liverpool!

Did I mention I met Bjorn Borg in lift at the Radisson?

Here's the Expedia link. The Radissons doing a deal between certain dates. There's secure NCP car park where we park our vehicles not 1minute from the hotel

Read the hotel reviews on the page, as my analysis was spot on about the Adelphi.

Jury's is nicely priced I think

In honesty I wouldn`t be bothering with the expensive city centre hotels. Much cheaper and much nearer for your Anfield tour is this place

http://www.innkeeperslodge.com/lodgedetail.asp?lid=58

No secure bike parking but you`ll be lucky to get that anywhere in Liverpool unless you`re paying the expensive city centre prices. Your bikes will be safe there in the car park and you`re only about 2 miles from Anfield.

Another alternative is this....

http://www.travelodge.co.uk/search_a...p?hotel_id=248

Again no secure parking but your bike will be fine and its 3 miles from Anfield.

Have a great time and enjoy your stay in Liverpool. Liverpool does have a reputation and there are, like all major cities, rough spots but you wouldn`t need secure parking at either of the above links.

Have fun

I work in Liverpool one or two days a week and have done for abbout 18 months. I usually have too much to carry to take the bike, so car it. I love Liverpool, it's a fantastic city, I know that I'd be very happy living there and if they offered me a job I'd be sorely tempted

If you need a recommendation for somewhere to eat, Casa Italia in Stanley Street is terrific

Or if you like Indian this place on London Road in the City Centre is fantastic....

Had a great night there last night and Gordon Ramsay was a recent diner and gave the place a glowing report! Can`t get much better than that
