Can I clear up the speculation about the Taxi service. Killin Kabs is no more. The man who ran it retired about 1-2 years ago. There is no Taxi service in Killin at all and we confirmed this with the local pubs and the campsite a while ago.

The taxi we had booked was to come from Tyndrum as it was anticipated enough people would do something on the Friday to make it worth the Taxi driver's journey. He would then have made it available for the Saturday to take people into the village. Since the numbers were only 6 for the Friday, this is not finacially feasible for them and it had to be cancelled. The only other Taxi service is from Crianlarich 12 miles away.

Any of the Taxi firms will only come out if it is worth their while and dependent on numbers. So if anyone wants to go into Killin on the Saturday that's the options available.

Re the restaurant - it is a licensed restaurant but not a pub. The lady at the restaurant did say it is advisable to book for the Saturday as they do get very busy on this particular night. They have 34 covers inside and seats outside if it is dry.

EDIT: Meal times are 6pm-9pm

As it's a restaurant, this means that for those looking for drinks only, they will be served after the diners have finished more or less. The restaurant have said everyone is welcome for drinks after this and if no one is eating outside then you can sit outside for drinks during the meal hours. They don't serve draught beer incidentally - bottles only.

HTH

UPDATE ON THE TAXIS

I spoke with Crianlarich Taxis and they confirmed they will not come out one Friday or Saturday. They have limited taxis avaialble and only operate in the Crianlarich/Tyndrum/Drovers area.
