I've not seen anything about Mallory being resurfaced (...I think Brands was done recently). It's been in that state for some time, I doubt the winter temperatures will have helped it either

Going by the amount of people we have had in for surgery recently from Mallory. I'd say it's definately NOT been re-surfaced

There has been no resurfacing really to speak of.
Exit to Gerrards has got worse over the winter with a fair few big crashes (140mph one of them) already this year. Just be careful and watch your lines.

thank you for confirming that. saves me waisting any more money on that place till it's up to scratch.

how do they get away with having BSB races here with such a poor surface (although i'm sure there are other tracks that aren't too good either on the BSB calender)?

I've not been round there yet this year, I'm currently just going on word of mouth that gerrards exit near the large gap in the concrete has got a bit worse, But honestly I can't say i really struggle with the surface apart from in the wet, and when i binned it I was riding beyond my limits anyway.
I wont slate mallory as they have spent money over the winter increasing run offs at the hairpin and lake essess, which in my book have seen far in the worst of the crashes over the past couple of years. Gerrards run off will be altered at the end of this year I believe so maybe we will see a bit of resurfacing along with that.
The reason I dont think it has been addressed as there is more large car meetings than bike meetings at mallory. The one big bike meeting there is (BSB) utilises another slowing down chicane that i think misses the huge gaping hole.

Gaping hole?! Is there a good video of the track that will let me see if the surface is going to scare the crap out of me on my first time out?

Sorry, that was me getting a bit overexcited.
There is a sort of gouge in the track on the exit of gerrards. Its where two different track services meet, it is off the racing line and is only about two centimetres or so deep and about an inch and a half wide. Probably about 4-5ft long. (I may be wrong, thats just how ive interpreted it as I've gone past) I've hit it a few times and you will just feel a little wobble.
Onboard footage i have is:
YouTube Video
Error: If you cannot see this video, then either YouTube is down or you don't have Flash installed to play it.

You can see the gash I'm talking about at 1min27 to 1min28.

You will be fine though I'm sure. just dont panic and if its wet, be VERY VERY careful at edwina's on the exit.
