Re: oxfor grips controller problems
Did you waterproof the plug joint in the cable from the control box (by the battery) and the unit on your dash?
E.g. wrap it in electrical tape...

Re: oxfor grips controller problems
Check your charging voltage with a multimeter, if this is fine then grip control is at fault

Re: oxfor grips controller problems
Thanks for posting this, I've had Oxford grips on my k6 for a year now and have a similar issue. According to the instructions, flashing blue light means not enough power - A safety feature to ensure it only runs off the engine not the battery. I find that they'll work once I give a bit of rev while holding the on button. If I'm sitting at the lights for a while they tend to switch off...

Darran, do you have the new controller box?
As you say you hold down the on button |

Re: oxfor grips controller problems
is your battery in good nick?
if iirc if it dropes below 11.5v then it cuts out/wont switch on if thats all ok then your controllers probally had it! mine done it when there were new and the shop replaced it, all fine for two winters but this year i went to test them and they had packed up completly, ive just hard wired them through the hazard switch, |

This is the set I have:
http://shop.sydneycitymotorcycles.co.../1340059-1.jpg I think there is a small v6 on the bottom right of the control box. As I said, they generally work ok but switch of after any length of time at low revs |

Re: Oxford grips controller problems
Thanks all who gave advice on this, i have tested again today with not touching the on switch until i have done at least two miles. The blue light blinks 5 times then comes on after 30 seconds. worked like this all day today so fingers crossed but i will give Oxford a call tomorrow to check if this is normal.
Cheers.... |
