Should I remove my Scottoiler before doing a track day?

Might be a really obvious or silly question... but I'm planning on doing a couple of track days this year, should I remove the Scottoiler for the day?

Wasn't sure if it'd be better/required for it to be taken off incase it spills fluid all over the place.

Could you just empty the tank/chamber and just bring/borrow lube for the day

I didn't. There is no requirement to do so for a TD, but I'd do the above if you were worried.

Actual oil volume in a normal scotty is fairly small and the reservoir is probably mounted inside the bike. You planning on coming off?

Nope!

The chances it'll leak/spill are slim and like you say there's not a whole lot in it. It was more so if it was good practice or required to be removed. If it's not I'll just leave it be and simply not fill it much beforehand if possible (just enough to save me having to reprime it).

I'd rather plan to come off and not - than not plan to come off and come off.

I think you're worrying far too much about nothing.

Just turn up and take your mirrors off, and tape your lights up. That's all I do, and plan to do, whilst I still track my road bike. (read: incoming track bike next spring)

Sort of related, but it makes me laugh when I see guys in the novice group with tyre warmers...I really don't see the point as their tyres just cool down because they're not going fast enough anyways!

I took my fairing lowers off too as I'm well tight and crash proned!

Lower left fairing is scuffed/cracked from a drop on ice so not too fussed about that side if the worst happened, but was thinking of removing them just in case.

If you smash them up you'll be a £100ish more in the **** than you would have been for 5 mins removing them (or that was my outlook anyway)
Either that or just take it easy on the right handers
