suzuki seat cowl -crappy fit
Just got the official seat cowl for my K5 and the fit is rubbish
The instruction say to try and adjust the mounting etc but there doesn't seem to be much scope to do this. Are they all this bad, and if so is there anyway I can make it fit better? |

Re: suzuki seat cowl -crappy fit
The one on Liz's K5 suffers from the same thing. I think they are all pretty much like that.
I'm sure I've read somewhere about taking the rubber grommets off of the pillion seat and swapping them over, as that seems to make it a better fit, but I've never tried it

Re: suzuki seat cowl -crappy fit
I had same problem on the back of mine the gap was huge. I changed over the rubbers from the seat to the seat cowl, was 10 minute job and lowered it and closed the gap abit,,not perfect but tons better. I think mine went out of line because of me changing the undertray... I see you have a tail tidy i think it has the same affect, puts the rear panels out of line for some reason .. Give it a go and see if it works if not,,you'll have to start moving the fixings around to get the best fit!!!
Hope that helps Rich!!

Re: suzuki seat cowl -crappy fit
I see you have the saddle shutters too,,they look abit wonky donky,,sorry im very picky ,,if you bend the bracket they're on and loosen the screws, then line them up with the bodywork they sit sweet as a nut!!!

Re: suzuki seat cowl -crappy fit
They may be "all like that sir" but that doesn't make it acceptable. More like cheap stuff from a poor aftermarket supplier.
Very surprised that Suzuki sell em. |

Re: suzuki seat cowl -crappy fit
Agreed, some components that suzuki sell aren't really acceptable,, unless you buy a GSXR they don't seem to be that interested in the quality of the other makes accessories. It's almost as if when the come to check the parts they say "Oh that'll do" !!!
