Default Crash bung recommendations.

It's time for some new ones after road testing the ones on the bike. I think they were generic, no name ones, tubular and made of nylon or delrin. They did the job but split open on impact and need replacing.
I did a quick search but there's nothing recent. R&G ones get mentioned a lot but feedback tends to vary. Is there anything else out there?
A look on Google throws up offerings from Harris, Puig, HPS..... anyone tried these or got feedback on any others?

crash bungs on the SV pointy are pretty much useless if you have a fairing as the bung tends to smash the fairing at the part where the bung is located. from what i have seen the bungs also dont stop things like bars, leavers/pedals and indicators from getting broken. so whats the point, they are ok for a drop at stand still but again dont stop minor stuff getting broken.

Mine's a naked so plastics aren't a problem and yeah, you're right, bungs won't stop a few bits like pedals and mirrors being broken. But, on the other hand, without the bungs, my exhaust would certainly have been well scratched, maybe bent, engine casing too, and that sticky out radiator ??
I think they can help to minimise damage.

I have a bikini faired pointy, I dont have any sliders, bungs etc.

I have dropped the bike while trying to bump it (essentially ghostied it like a BMX) no damage apart from bent break lever and scratched bar end.

I dropped when I was doing a shock swap, on the right side again, no damage.

I also dropped it on gravel in a carpark and couldnt right it again because of said gravel, i just kept pushing it around on its side trying to get traction to right it, again no damage.

For these reasons I dont believe crash bungs do anything except catch the floor and make the bike do a flip.

My curvy has got R&G's on it, but Motosliders have a better reputation about not breaking in use.

You have to get them from the USA, but are worth it.

I'm sure someone posted up about a UK guy doing really good ones that work too. Kinda smaller scale operation.

I had R&G's on my bike which slid down the road at 40 mph in the wet, saved the bike massively with minimal damage to the bike really, no frame damage, no tank damage, small scuff on the lower fairing & nose cone - without them I doubt I'd have bothered fixing it to put back on the road.

I have R&G's on my naked curvy. A slow speed spill resulted in minor damage. The bung did bent back a bit so a new bolt was required. The gear pedal was bent back so I have replaced it with one with a hinged piece to match my break pedal. The bungs certainly helped reduce potential damage to the usual items such as mirrors, levers. radiator, frame , tank etc.

R&Gs here, one patch of black ice a few years back had me going down the road sideways - folding levers meant no issue with those, just an indicator broken

The crash bung did break, but didn't damage anything else
