My new sv650s
Morning all
I bought my SV650s over the weekend, it's an 05 plate (which I'm assuming makes this a K5?) with 10k miles on the clock. The mods are: wing mirrors with indicators in them beowulf warrior slip on exhaust it has a rear hugger in gloss black that I suspect might be 3rd party? crystal clear indicators on the rear on a tail tidy rear seat cowl acuman alarm I love it, so much torque! Going from a Yammy R125 to this is a big step up, but I've had high powered cars in the past so it's all under control Anyway, couple of Q's (I'm sure these have been asked before) The rear seat cowl leaves gaps either side, I've seen other members bikes with these filled in, I'm assuming they're inserts....any pointers of where to purchase these from? The battery died as I stupidly left the side light on (didn't even realise it had one...doh) and the alarm's seen its ****, so now unless I turn off the knock/bump sensor...it'll go off all bloody day, and when I disabled the knock sensor...it'll drain the battery. Does anyone know somebody reputable to remove this in the west London area? Can side fairings be bought and simply fitted or will I need brackets as well? Haven't managed to get any photos as yet, but here's a quick video I made of the exhaust with the baffle in http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=75xTUmYj0P8&feature=plcp Thanks guys! John |

Re: My new sv650s
Greetings.
Sounds all good. The spaces you describe, are these where the grab rail used to be then> If so they are 'shutters' i believe they are called. As to where you would get these nowadays, i have no idea. Banditmania used to sell them, but just checked and they dont seem to sell anything any more!! Remember that your bike has a parking light. 1 more click anti clockwise from off. Been done many times. As for alarm removal, something you could do yourself if competent. However, not in west london, but reputable is Essential Rubber in Bow, east london. They may be able to help. Fairings. If you mean the Lowers, then they come as a kit with all the brackets etc thats needed. Sets can be picked up on the likes of Ebay etc. Not cheap new though |

Re: My new sv650s
Thanks for the info dude, will keep an eye out for those filler bits Not a massive worry, just a bit unnerving if the bikes left out in torrential rain!
The alarm is an in built immobiliser/cat 1 alarm...rang the company who make it (the guy I spoke to was an unhelpful, smarmy ********...so swerve Acumen anyone who's reading this) and they said trying to remove it will cause issues...so gonna get it done by someone, will give those dudes you mentioned a bell. Theres one on ebay at the mo
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SV650-Grab...oBcEAAAAxl0pAQ== I seem to remember someone on here saying they bent the plastic from an old floppy disc to cover up the gaps, might be worth a search? (hello by the way) |

Re: My new sv650s
Any definitive way to tell and does it make any real difference when it comes to ordering parts? It's a black framed one...

Re: My new sv650s
Mine says SV650 K2 on the V5, I'd assume they all specify on there?
