Service cost
How much would you pay for a service?
I need the brakes looking at mainly as they don't seem to "right" esp the rear! Just knowing how much to put back ready for a service in a couple of weeks. I'd love to do it myself but have no clue about that stuff |

There is no fixed cost for brakes as it all depends on how long it takes to do. Can be a quick seal service. 1hr ish. Or it could be a flipping bugger in which case you are better of getting a couple of decent calipers from a scrappy. I got two fronts for £60. Seal kits and labour aren't going to be much less than this. Could even be quite a lot more if they are well seized.

You can look at anywhere between £35 & £55 an hour + parts
Make sure you get a written quote first |

brakes are pretty easy.
take the calipar off, spay loads of brake cleaner in the calipar and clean it with a soft brush. check your pads. disc thickness clean the disc also , press the piston as far in the calipar body as it will go (as this apparently gets all the tiny air bubbles out of the fluid - someone did this to my calipar - and afterwards - it felt brand new) take some brake cleaner, spray loads on the pads, and scrub a little with a green scourer (to remove glazing) also check your brake lines for any leaks, and check you fluid level. |

Brake cleaner will not affect the pads.
