N260- gotta do it, best road in the world!!! Might be just out of your way, but worth the effort- my point of view anyway!!!

Defo do the N260 - it is a savage bit of road. Myslef and a couple of mates rode from Santander to Pamplona and onto Perpignan along the N260. Believe me, you won't be disappointed

We just pulled into a town, looked for a spot to stay and booked in. Never had any problems finding accomodation. Means you are free to plan each day as it comes - much more fun!

We stayed in Ainsa - cant remember the name of the hotel - sorry! It's on the LHS before you cross the bridge and has a 'bikers welcome' sign outside. Had a lockup for the bikes which was great.

Also, if you have time stay with Maz and Nigel at their B&B near to Perpignan - hospitality is second to none and they even have a garage where you can tend to your bikes. Nigels always keen on showing you some nice local roads and places to eat...well worth the visit. Website is http://www.coupdecoeur.co.uk

To be honest I wouldnt bother to much with Andorra itself. Outside of the skiing season its pretty dead. Weather tends to be much duller/wetter as well. Depending on the amount of time ye have, its also worth crossing the Millau bridge - class piece of engineering!! From Perpignan is about 2.5hours - but if you want to take the nice twisty route - its most of a days riding from Perpignan...

Getting jealous here - would love to be going back again!!

Remember that Hotel in Ainsa well! The " bikers welcome" sign stuck out cos anywhere abroad you get treated like a normal human being! Had a bit of lunch there and was kept entertained by the multi-lingual profanities from their parrots on the porch.

The M/way from Santander - east is faaaaasst, like your favourite A-road, only with two lanes and triple figures on your speedo (if you want). If only all M-roads were this much fun.

N260 is a legend for bikers for good reason. Could quite happily stick to this whole road for a whole holiday. Look out for the abandoned village mid-way down. Sort - La Seu D'Urgell (Olympic kayak course through their local park.) is gnarly as feck.

Andorra is tax-free. Loads of bike shops. Loads of cheap bike gear. SMX+ for under £140. (Left my honky vertebrates in the hotel room bin)

Banyuls-sur-Mer to head for Figueres is mental , up ,down, round and round.

Saint Feliu - Tossa is the same except slower, tighter and cliff hugging if you are heading south. Jaw dropping views down the cliffs to the yachts tied up in secluded coves, if you have time to look.

Montserrat is worth a visit if you have time , if you don't you will still come round a corner and go WTF is that?

" The 3 Cols" on the French side, D'Aspin/Tourmalet (Pic du Midi de Biggore is a stunning summit via cable car) and d'Aubisque can all be done in a day. Your brain and tyres will be melted though.

I rate the Pyrenees higher than The Alps. Not as high. Not as many "names". But less miles. Much, much less traffic. Better surfaces. Generally green and wet French side, sunny but arid Spanish.

And Barcelona at the end of it.

You lucky fecker.
