Rearsets.
I went out last night on my bike i went around a corner (as you do) and scroooch goes my peg, i thought nothing of it until i pulled over and saw that my brake pedel had bent . I dunno how really, perhaps i pressed on it as i went around but im sure i would have spun off if i had. Must have just hit it on a funny angle i think.
Anyway with it looking all naff and out of shape i decided to take it off and straighten it up, abit of heat from a blow lamp and some rather rigorous hammering it went back a treat. But me being me and seeing a post on http://www.suzukisv1000.com/ i decided to go the whole hog and drill in some fancy holes in the heel plates and polish them up. I didn't have any autosol so raided the cupboards and found brasso and boy did it do a good job. I'm pleased with it and thought i'd share with you guys. I would love some Gilles rearsets eventually but for now these will do nicely. They're Not 100% yet but abit more polishing and i'll be able to see my face in it !!! Just finished putting them on the bike, me like alot!!!

Re: Rearsets!!!
My brake pedal is slightly bent too (in the same way that yours is/was). Mine can stay like that though.
Looks a good pair of rearsets you have. |

Re: Rearsets!!!
Looks great. Was that just brasso and elbow grease. Did you use any scotch pads or extra equipment?

Re: Rearsets!!!
I used some wet and dry to get the paint off then buffed it up to a shiney finish!! It worked well... I wouldn't fancy just going at it with autosol, it would take ages getting the paint off that way!!

If you look at them both together on the carpet you'll see that the holes away from the edge, just the picture playing tricks!!!

Re: Rearsets!!!
I remember seeing one of the sv1000 lads' bikes that he had done this to (lots of v. small holes in the heel plates and polished to a mirror shine). I actually mistook them for rearsets till I got up close to have a look.
