Default possible invalid insurance

I wasn't thinking of making any unnecessary trips anyway...

https://uk.finance.yahoo.com/news/co...105800826.html

...but if they're not covering you for a month, shouldn't you get a refund?

This also came out during the first lockdown. I doubt they could enforce it should you need to claim.
You can go out and travel for recreational activities - it's not essential but it's allowed under the directive.
There's too much grey area to really try and find an exact point, and i doubt there are any case studies to give an idea of what to do.

Outdoor recreation is permitted though, so biking is OK.
There are no travel bans as such, I can't remember the exact wording but surely it would be the insurers responsibility to inform you of changes to their T's and C's like they expect us to inform them if anything changes.

hahahahaaaaaa. they will try anything to con the public and not to pay out. i would like to see this hold up in court to which i think the judge would sit there and laugh.

yes if you use your car for criminal activities then they can invalidate your insurance but as far as i'm aware it has to be serious crime. there are different levels of law.

Don't see how lockdown restrictions should affect motor insurance . Whatever you are covered for should still apply.

Drivers who make non-essential journeys during lockdown will still be insured, following claims they may not be covered. seems clear to me !

A spokesman for the Association of British Insurers said: "Motor insurers continue to cover those using their vehicle for commuting to work and NHS volunteering without you having to first tell them.- why wouldn't they !!!

"You should follow government restrictions, but if you do use your car for non-essential travel, you will not risk invalidating your car insurance." - seems clear enough

Bl00dy insurance companies are happy enough to charge you for an umbrella as long as Sun is shining, but first sign of rain they want it back....

Risk of accident has actually dropped during lockdown due to less traffic...

On the whole that may be true but with less traffic about and almost zero plod presence the morons in lowered scrapyard dodgers with noisy exhausts scream about the place like morons. At least they do in Wycombe anyway...

Massively abbreviated:

Exceptions: leaving home
(d) to visit a public outdoor place for the purposes of open air recreation—

Can't see how they could argue with it re: insurance, think this is one of 'those' statements that does the rounds.
