Default IOM TT electric bikes

Don't know if this has beem covered already, but I have to say I'm impressed with the results of the electric bike race, first place average speed 87mph is darned impressive. Definitely the beginnings of things to come.

Yeah I was really looking forward to this, shame there wasn't more coverage on ITV, I need to do some googling into the teams and tech behind it, looked really cool, shame about the lack of noise but ultimately I guess thats a better thing, just something we need to get used to. I wonder what the acceleration is like on those things? should be awesome from a motor

ITV4 showed a little of it and interviewed some of the riders to. The riders seemed to really like riding them, but I can't get over the lack of noise.

Pretty cool though I think.

Had a good look around them as they were going in for scrutineering - some definitely looked more professional than others!

The speed difference between them was quite varied too - one of them was obvioulsy much faster than the others and where we were standing (bottom of Bray Hill) the crowd went "wooooo" as the faster one went through as it was clearly going way faster than the others!

Just to revive this with a little more info for those that didn't catch it, the whole 4 minutes that ITV dedicated to it made it onto youtube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=devfPUUWwjo&fmt=18

and theregister.co.uk have a report on it too which gives some more details.

Interesting times though, this tech can only get better, and I suspect it will do so exponentially.
