Thanks, I hope so. So happy to have it back. I can deal with an aching foot. Getting older anyway! Just been rung to say it's passed it's MOT!! Just the tax to sort now..

I would like to say one thing about 4D - since they were finally given the go ahead they have been true to their word. The bike was even delivered a couple of days early, despite a delay in getting the parts. To a different address. So if you do have dealings with them in the future don't panic too much. Unless you are 3rd party!!
If this is the case don't let them take your bike! Lesson learnt.

As for RSA - gits.

Sweet!

So it looks decidedly secondhand already! Still, can't have a shiny bike at this time of year, makes it look as though you're not serious! Mine looks like it's been used to plough fields!!

Welcome back Martin!

Thanks Martin,

It's great to be back on it. Now that I have just filled up the tank again got to see if I can be a little more economical. Might last 2 days...

Still I didn't run out of fuel last night so that was good.
New commute 1 tank full equals 3 days 137 miles. 13.85 litres to brim.
1st day wasn't to economical though, neither was the second, third was only when I realised I might be pushing it.

Quick question your avatar - do you have a double bubble screen, are they any good? Being 6 foot 2 my standard screen isn't great for dual carriage way speeds.

I will chime in and say MRA double bubbles are excellent on the SV, the style looks right and they work. Although at 6' 2" you might find a standard double bubble diverts the wind blast off your chest and onto your head, rather than over your head.

I've been lurking on this thread and have to say, you were remarkably patient. Glad the bike is back and fixed.

EDIT: Here is a photo of an MRA screen

Luckypants,

Thanks for the comments, that one does look nice. I'll look into it.
Anything's got to be better than trying to duck down enough with the standard screen.

And as I managed to get myself between a rock and a hard place. Patience was all I was left with.
Really happy the right outcome came out in the end. Just hope this thread helps someone avoid my novice mistakes. I learnt from it, hopefully others did too.

On a happy note, my foot doesn't seem to ache anymore!! It twinges now and then, fingers crossed it stays this way.
Missus wants to go ice skating - I'm not so sure.

Double bubbles do deflect the wind blast a treat. Just beware, as per my post about melted clocks, if parked away from the Sun. They act like magnifying glasses!
Good luck with the ice skating, have been playing the dodgy ankles card for two years now, not sure how much longer I'm going to get away with that excuse. But if we insist on wearing all our bike gear... maybe the embarrassment factor might get us off? Good luck buddy!
