Part 5; Rust:
Well leaving bit out over winter wasn't ideal. The gear box drum got a little brown. So I get my trusty vinegar. Leave it for a bit. And after a wipe down with WD40 and a bit of Brasso it looks good enough to go back in. |

Re: SH2: The Rebuild (Image Heavy)
Steve is a god among friends by the way...just to let you all know. I had a little surprise when Stretchie got back last night....in the form of downpipes and a can......on loan. I really hope they'll fit, but if they dont.....well, nevermind, just awesome to have a friend willing to lend

Re: SH2: The Rebuild (Image Heavy)
Part 6; Motivation:
My advice to anyone who takes on something like this is to have some motivation. The bets I've had have not helped but only to reduce my pocket money. The access to other bikes and transport has not help nor has other aspects of life getting in the way of doing something constructive. But things are on the up. The last two days have been spent in the garage, parts are on order and the desire to see SH2 up and running has returned. The engine is on its way back together, the chassis is being looked into as unused brakes have a habit of sticking, and clutch plates are acquainting themselves with some sort of mythical fluid. Updates and photos are soon to follow... |
