Default Lucky, lucky Ireland !!

Well, after my condemnation of the England rugby team last weekend - today I have to say that I think were extremely hard done by !!

IMHO all 3 match officials should be taken off the first class roster & 'relegated' to schoolboy matches where their appalling decisions won't have so much impact !!

Whilst not taking anything away from the Irish for their final try - it was an excellent effort - it's just a shame that the first 2 were allowed to stand !!

Incidently, does anyone know if the referee can call for a video replay to judge the validity of a drop goal ? I ask because in the Italy v Scotland match the eraly attempt by the Italians looked good to me (when seen from the camera behind the goal) but was not given by the ref.

Sour grapes, anyone?! I'm not a big fan of the egg chasers but I did enjoy today's game. Probably the best rugby match I've ever seen.

And I think the officials did a fine job

A hat-trick of victories against England, and two Triple crowns in three years.

Shocking luck altogether. Strangely consistent luck none the less.

Hey, don't get me wrong here guys !!

I am in no way trying to denigrate Irelands Triple Crown victory - just stating a fact that the standard of officiating in yesterday's match was appalling !!

i'm with ya supervox, at least two decisions which directly lead to irish tries which on the replay were dodgy - the ball was in touch, and cohen's quick thrown in was legit.

ah well, it's only a game

overall though the revised english squad put on a better display that last time.
