Default Home wanted for German Shepard

My Brother in law is about 2 pop his clogs and has finally realised the dogs have got to go.

Rex is a large long haired German Shepard about 7 years old. He is very wary of strangers and can be aggressive to them. But once use to them, he is then extreamly protective. He does not get on with other dogs or children.

Sheba is a mid size GSD about 5 years old. she has never had any pups. she is a friendly dog.

Both these dogs need re-homing. They need lots of exercise and even more TLC.

Sorry to hear about your Brother In-Law Sorry i can't help either wish i could and i'll take any dog needing a new home! I'd love to do obedience and agility training with a dog that can be trained... unlike my pooch who just wants to pull and run all the time (well he was designed to do that lol).

Thanks, they are lovely dogs. I already have a dog, otherwise I would certainly take them on myself. Although Lynne is trying to persuade me that Sheeba may get on OK with Jasper and that we should try.

I cannot risk Rex with my grandchildren. He has been very gentle with them. But I don't know how he would respond should one of them try to hit him etc. He was a rescue dog that had been badly beaten as a pup by a gang of yobby children and as such does not like them when out on his walks etc.

I hope they find a home, I'm scared of dogs so couldnt ever have one but german shepards always seem really nice dogs (from the distance I watch them at). If he can't find a home, where will they go?

Matt

Tim.... Can you please pm me as many details as you can about the dogs and i'll see what i can do any pictures will help too. There is also a charity called Many Tears which is another place where a lot of Sibes and Malamutes end up when their new owners haven't done their research on the breed and realise at about 9 months they can't handle them . They are a great charity and do home checks to make sure the new owners can look after and provide for the dog properly.

As i said i can't take them on, as i have to think about Lupo and Mishka (when she arrives home), it would just be chaos having the malamutes and GSD's lol.

And Matt..... when Mishka comes home you'll have to meet her we'll get you over that fear.... although best not meet Lupo for your first time lol!! He's not that small ball of fluff anymore lol!

Unfortunately the two latter sites are US based. the uk site, I looked at yesterday and they were saying they were unable to accept any more dogs because of a cash crisis caused by an unscrupulous kennel owner winning a claim against them for a dog that they had never agreed fund. The dog was to be destroyed, the charity issued a cheque to get the dog released from the kennel, then canceled it. once the dog had been safely moved.
