Default Got new internet security, and now internet is sooo slow

Just got Kaspersky internet security an my new security center, in a word it is sh*t.

since i changed from bullguard my internet speed has been sooooooo slow, i might as well be on 56K dial up!!!! i have 2M broadband FFS!!!

so i think i will go back to bullguard.

anyone know why my internet is so slow now? could the new software be clashing with my AOL software? Why do some internet suits do this and slow up a PC.

Annoyed as i have wasted the money this pile of w*nk Kaspersky software!!

AOL is like a spolit child and only likes to play with other sytems it likes, not the ones you choose to buy.

Dump the AOL bloatware and sign up to anyone of of the others out there.

I used to use AOL, but i now get cable TV and high speed broadband...all for less than what i paid for AOL! And all thru my BT line too.

See here www.homechoice.co.uk

It's not due to the software itself.... It's down to the way it's configured. If it checks everything it's going to slow things down. You need to look at what security you feel you need and set it accordingly.

I run Norton with no issues at all, apart from it adds about 15 seconds to start up, but then, that's it doing it's checks.

AOL is ****e.... The only UK based ISP that tells you that you MUST use it's browser etc or it won't support you.

Go find a proper ISP (if you are with AOL...)

I put Winantivirus and had the same problem but also have a couple fo freebies running too - I'm not too clever with this stuff. PC really slow - just bought some extra RAM and its much much better. Kind of a toss up between cost of more ram or whether to bin the security.

I did look at the config and stopped it continuinly checking all files on the PC , and that made no differance, so AOL obviously clashes with it.

Looks like ill go back to Bullguard as i know it works with no hinderance on my broadband.

Extra RAM - about £20 or £30

Trying to recover your stolen identity after you visit a webpage which includes a hidden keystroke detector - Priceless.

Never, ever run without security my friend.
