Default Toilet seats!

My missus has just had a go at me for not putting it down after using the toilet.Perhaps my reasoning is flawed but I asked her why she didn't lift it after use.
There is only the two of us in the house,so, if she has just been to the toilet it is more than likely that I will be next to go which would require the seat to be raised.
If this theory is correct I was wrong not to put it down but she never bothers to put the "Lid" [The bit without the hole in it]down
After 40years I still can't understand her reasoning regarding some things,as in when we are finished with the toilet put both the seat and lid down.

Women just dont understand the Binary nature of Toilet Seats.

To summarise, they have 2 positions, Up and Down.

Either of these is the correct position for them to be left in.

However if you have ever seen the "splashback" when you flush you would always put the seat down AND the lid before flushing.

Well Mac I think that it's very unconsiderate of your better half not to put the seat up, especially as at your age you'll have to go every half hour.....

I always put the seat and the lid down.. that way she has to lift something when she goes.. but cant complain that the seat was up.

Did you actually know that by leaving both lids open, when you flush, all the lovley bacteria spreads into the air. Bit like the effect when you sneeze (if you've ever seen the "images" )

I close the lid when I flush.

Give her a slap and ask her how her lead has lengthend to the toliet and not the garden anyway

the reason is simple. do it because it makes her happy. Its not a competition, if it makes her happy, or conversly, if it dosent make her angry, then its worth doing. its not exactly difficult.

Put cling-film across the bowl before you put the lid down. That'll teach 'er*

ah now see thats not quite right. If you put the seat down, it will cease to make her happy when she gets used to it. Then she will complain about something else. Before you know it, you're living in a kennel in the garden wearing a butler's uniform and an apron, armed with a spade, sponge, spanner and other things beginning with "s".
