Michelin Pilot Road 3's
Had pr2's on sv1k for 13,000 miles. Rode hard felt every pebble in the road never slipped till the last 1000 miles.
Mounted PR4's rhis year and love em. Much smoother ride sticky turn in is neutral and easier w less push on the bars. Me likes. |

Pilot Road 4
Very smooth conservative riding. It helps if you're not very heavy.

Re: Pilot Road 4
you live in Scotland where the roads are made out of Sandpaper. Higher wear rate than smoother asphalt roads.

Re: Pilot Road 4
Don't stop when it gets square, change it when it looks like a car tyre! Use as much of the side as possible in the spring/summer/autumn so that you can use the centre in the winter. Also in winter the wear drops drastically as the constant layer of water stops the tyre from making contact with the road! Push the front harder to save rear wear so they wear at the same rate, replace only when the centre is bald and the shoulders 1mm in the summer when it's not raining (2mm shoulder 1mm centre if it's wet!) That should be good for 14K with a pillion and loaded top box for a few thousand miles. And be smooth and fast, not ragged and fast. Works for me anyway! Be interesting to see the effect a restrictor has on this too!

Re: Pilot Road 4
Have had a few sets of PR-2's on the SV and absolutely loved them but time to move on.
Can get a set of PR4's for not too much more so got a set ordered. Hope to get them on the bike next weekend.

I'm running 36 cold on the M5 's on the daytona and wear the edges in the classic scallop /cupping pattern. Maybe it's ridding it to slow or not enough lean?

Pilot Road 4
I'd have to agree. I think the pressures from cold are 36 rear 33 front.
