an activity idea
Right, I sort of got lazy & didn't want to read 10 pages of
"Let's play football" "No, let's do something to a pizza boy" "No. Let's play football" "Pizza boy" "footie" "blah" "blah" "etc" How about Bike Shop 101? Workshops doing the stuff us numpties pay the nice man in the garage thru' the nose for: puncture repair carb balancing clutch dragging oil/filter change spark plug change Taking the rear wheel off. |

Re: an activity idea
It's a good idea but just remember that some body has to take time out of what should be there fun weekend to teach people. It maybe an idea to test the water with some of the DIY servicing experts on here first and make sure there is some one happy to lend there time before everyone jumps on the idea. Also when is there gonna be time for it, if we're riding all day and drinking all evening when will it happen.
Not trying to dismiss the idea, i might even learn some thing, but it depends on the goodwill of some one to do it. |

Re: an activity idea
Can't we play football with pizza boys?
Does this mean that I don't need to get my bike serviced cos someone will do it for me? Lovely. You could always set it up so one person does one job and then hands over to someone else for a different job. |

Re: an activity idea
Just to remind you all, despite my topbox i DO NOT, i repeat DO NOT deliver any packages, including pizza's, of any sort. Therefore, no picking on me
A bike shop 101 could be cool, something where we can ask questions and someone with the knowhow and the right tools can help us out? What about osme live music? anyon with connections to big rock bands Matt |

Re: an activity idea
Last year there were all kinds of plans which didn't come off, through no-one's real fault other than the weather.
But it was a bloody fantastic time, I think anyone who was there would agree, and the organisers did a great job despite trying circumstances meteorologically. Four ingredients made it what it was Beer Bikes Camping Company Like John Smiths, no gimmicks. |
