Fuel Tank Capacity & Reserve? - SV650.org

Aparently my 2002 has a 16 litre tank capacity, so why am I only getting around about 11 litres from when the fuel light first begins to blink.

Does this mean, I still have around 5 Ltrs in the tank at that point? as I can't seem to see a reserve switch anywhere

No reserve switch, just a light. 16l - 11l = 5l

If that is the math...then at a worst case scenarion, how much mileage would I get from 5L remaining in the tank? normal riding conditions.

You will prolly never get in the full amount so siscount 1 to maybe 2L depending ow how canted over the bike is.

From flashy (yea, whatever bike) to solid (ohmygodpleaseletmefindapetrolstationsoon) is 10 to 20 miles for me depending on whether its a run or town travel, from solid to chug chug chug so far the furthest i pushed it is 6 miles in town......

Hmm, interesting information as I didn't think it'll be as much as that, but always good to know as a back of the mind thought.

Ouch, a 6 mile bike push is certainly not what you wanted.

Errrrrr 'pushed' was as far as i dared ride, not managed to run out of juice on the SV (yet)

i ran mine about 12 miles into the flashing light and it decided it didn't like it and went all funny eventually cutting out and not starting again, until i put fresh petrol in and it was fine!

Weird.

My k3 i get 100 or less miles till my light comes on and thats only about 10 - 12 litres id imagine i could get another 30 miles when light is on

i've a k2 also, have once filled up 15.96L at the petrol station, so pretty much emptied the tank. That took me 26 miles from flashy on to petrol station. don't know when it turned solid, was more interested in finding a petrol station.

My K3 also gets around 100 miles till light. At this point I can just queeze a tenner in the tank. I have done 15 miles with the light on but not sure how far after that.
