Default Tech support// please help (windows desktop)

hi all just need a little help please.

I have windows xp, recently but i don't know how on my desktop screen i have a large blue bar sitting to the left of my screen. It has

folder tasks

other places

details

marked on it in exactly the same fashion as i have typed it above I want to get rid of it but i don't know how can you guys please help me??
it's really anoying me now cheers all.

Have you recently installed new software? Looks like its an active application, try to right click on it and see if there is an exit or help menu

You haven't moved the taskbar from the bottom of the screen tot he side of the screen have you?

go in to control panel > add or remove programs >
then look for ****bar or something. Often these programs are hiding some spyware. Maybe try downloading an anti spyware program. It might solve it

Press the print screen button, open Paint and press ctrl-v then save and upload using the add image button on the left of when you post a reply here.
