£10 labour? Oh, that's great customer service Mr BMW...

Geoff.
Between about '83 and today I have owned R65LS, R800RT, R100RS, K100RS, K100RT, K1 and R1150RT. A significant proportion of miles were done between my house and the dealers to get **** fixed. Problems ranged from complete bike changed due to it going rusty in three weeks due to it's shipping crate having split and salt spray getting in there (all my other BM's were still pristine after two years), to the infamous K100RT which had an aero problem and shook its head violently when cornering at 110MPH+ and 45 degree +. Only solution was ride slower or sell it. I sold it.

The R1150RT was love/hate, waaay too heavy and high, but a fine bike once rolling. I'd have a 75% scale 800cc version tomorrow which is why the F800GT interests me. I'm surprised to read the toothed belt gives problems as they are protected almost completely by a nice guard. By the time I've done 25K miles though, there will be third party belts available - I hope...

You have to take the whole unit apart to replace the bulb. It's fiddly and takes me ages so that's probably about right based on the time it would have taken them.

My point was that they should do it free if they made it a nightmare to do. They know how to charge at BMW.
