Default Gruntygiggles and Orose

No not seen together on holiday somewhere!

Just wondered what the news was on your two bikes. Repectively the Babyblade and broken Speed Triple.

Well, the speed triple is still broken - on Wednesday, I rang the dealer who picked it up to be told that they think a faulty camchain tensioner is the cause once they'd stripped it down. As a result of that, I'm getting half a new engine (rods, pistons and liners upwards) fitted under warranty

Flipping heck Ollie, that's cr@p. Just imagine if you'd have gambled and not had the first service done.

Have they given you a loaner?

Is this a common fault do you know?

No loaner - I decided I could do with saving some cash.

Apparently it has never happened before - the 1050 engine just seems to happily plod along into silly mileage. A quick bit of googling only finds a guy who got a dodgy gearbox (fixed under warranty) and another who had a ring failure (after putting 7500 miles on in 3 months on a Sprint)

I think its quite muscular enough for now - needs some more offensive pipes though, as Seggons demonstrated in the GM video thread (and a bit of work with a tuneboy... and maybe a supercharger...)

I'd be happy with a volume somewhere around 6/10 of a YC really - the man himself is probably only running 3/4
