Finally got the KTM 790 taken back and refunded by the dealer. I didn't mention it as it was an ongoing process I didn't want to jeapordise, but it had serious issues. The main one being intermittent traction control problems. I had a message about traction control failure appear on the dash a few times and numerous times that it lost power, reduced power or power kicked back in at very wrong moments. It felt a bit underpowered sometimes compared to the previous one I had and then would suddenly have a random boost of power. Had a few dodgy moments on roundabouts etc. A few similar dodgy moments pulling away out of junctions and power dropping.
There were quite a few other issues too and the dealer did agree to take it back and refunded it eventually.

Should be a gripe but I'm just pleased it's all over and I'm not left with a lemon.

That's a good result. I do wonder exactly how reliable and long-lasting these complex TCS and multiple ride mode systems will prove.

Had some unexpected free time today so had a cracking ride to Bala. The wind was whipping pretty strongly across Llyn Tegid.

This bike only had 2k miles on it and had numerous issues.

My previous one had 10k and was fine. The notorious hit and miss KTM quality control perhaps?

Pleased for you. I do wonder about the build quality of KTMs. Great if you get a good one, otherwise ....

I have always thought that the more electronic trickery there is on a vehicle the more there is to go wrong! I do like electronic fuel injection and have come to accept electric windows in cars

Off to Cardiff on the train tomorrow, with one of my daughters to see Palaye Royale at the Student Union. Stopping overnight in a cheap Travelodge and coming back on Wednesday.

One of those niche bands that you never really hear about, but have a big following.
