Default Electrical fault, help much appreciated!

My brothers 55 plate SV650s is playing up. When you turn the key nothing at all happens, its been stood for 3 weeks so he assumed the battery was flat. He charged it up and tried again. This time all the dash lights came on, relays were clicking and it generally went a bit haywire. It did nothing when he tried to start it then and almost immediately the battery went flat again.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance

If it's a gel type battery it's probably had it. I don't think they will hold a charge once they have been run flat.

Tim.

does the red fuel injection warning light light up on the dash board? if so then it's not a flat battery it's a fault with the injection system

Dash haywire, that's usually a loose battery connection or bad earth.
