Default Silly insurance quotes

So I'm bored at work, thought I'd see how much it'd cost me to insure a TVR Tuscan

Did everything right, 2000 model worth ~£16k, clean record, TPFT, my 60yo father as a named driver...

ASDA were the only ones who would quote me

And they quoted...

Are you ready?..

Here we go:

On the plus side, I could save £10,000 by buying online

I'd be tempted to click "accept and buy", get the reference number for the quote with asda, then call them and see what they say "Yes, I'm calling about a quote I've just done with you online... the reference is: ######... yeah it seems like a good deal but can you do legal cover for free? if you can, I've got my visa ready and waiting"...

see what the op says

24, the quote was a computer glitch tbh

i could insure one fully comp for under £2k which isn't too bad, when i was 17 they quotes were all the wrong side of £10k

I've never really understood why they are so reluctant to insure powerful cars TPFT/TPO. Most people with a Porsche/TVR/similar are quite cautious about not crashing it. The super rich who can just buy another one are definately in the minority and in any event, would usually be in Ferraris, Lambos, etc instead. At the other end of the spectrum, lads in bangers take far more risks...

Ah! The ONE advantage of being an 'auld burd'....... fully comp on my SV, less than 120 quid [ and I've had my bike license for less than a year]
