Indeed John

My daughter nearly persuaded me to go as a character out of Star Trek, but I chickened out.

Didn't want to be labelled a weirdo

The Show was OK, although the Canon stand was disappointing compared to the Nikon one.

Got a good deal on some filters and some nice photo gloves (warm with index fingers that fold back). Was really tempted to take advantage of the offers on L Series lenses but stopped myself... Stupidly.

I can imagine its easy to get carried away on the offers. Maybe I'll go one year but the silly parking prices put me off the NEC.

Struggling to function properly now. This weather is just sucking the life out of me. Feels like all my get up and go has got up and gone.

I know where you're coming from, I've got a fireplace to rip out for a customer today and I'd rather curl up at home

I have work to get out to as well Dom and I have to tackle 4 miles of frozen snowy lane to get out to the main road to get to my client. The job is going to involve liaising with that bunch of criminal incompetents at Talk Talk on behalf of my client in an attempt to get them to sort her broadband out. Neither the journey nor the job are at all appealing but have to be done.
And because of the conditions my daughters school is closed today, so I have to decide what to do about them.
The temptation to just get under the duvet and wait till it's all over is very strong!

Somewhat bizarrely our secondary school has decided to open at 10 after we've gone to work leaving the kids 2 1/2 miles from school up a snowy Lane. Where's the logic?

That's bonkers. Someone needs to think a little more carefully about how that is likely to affect working parents!

It got worse at the NEC - hoards of pillocks in a variety of other-worldly and faintly Star Wars-esque outfits competed with assorted rubbish super heroes who had realised a photo show meant lots of people with cameras so they were all "look at me" in every blinking corridor and walkway. Irritating attention seekers. I ignored them all, left the Canon firmly in the bag and got in the way of as many shots as I could on my way into and out of Hall 5. Harrumph.
Oh I don't know, I can see the attraction of Cosplay...
