I have rim tape on the SV800 still, put it on 6 years ago and thought it looked a little tacky back then.

Ok but let me explain. I think the bike is a bit too silver so I'm trying to inject some colour. Orange screen, some strategically placed orange vinyl and some orange rim tape.
