Default ACF50 application

With having the Street Triple on it's way, and it being gorgeous and me using it as a daily...I'm definitely going to be getting it protected against salt and ****.

Is there anyone in the London area that can apply this properly for me? I've seen a chap advertising in the North West that uses what is basically a spray gun to get it all properly covered. Or is it really simple to just whack on with a normal rattle style can?

spraying wastes a good deal, I apply mine with a 1 inch paint brush coverage is better and you don't get the sticky buildup, wipe it down with a cloth (save that in a plastic bag) and you leave the thinest coat, all you need.

Cheers Mark.

Anyone can apply ACF50. As Rictus said you can do it sparingly, but even the hamfisted spray it into the crevices with unhinged abandon technique will work. It's one of those jobs that's good to do because it's about as easy as a job gets and gives you a chance to get up close and personal with the bike and spot any potential leaks, loose things, wobbly things, worn out things etc.

I was a bit more haphazard, just gave the thing a quick wash, sprayed it everywhere (avoiding the discs ) and then let the dirt build up. No idea if it is working as it should at the moment.

Yeah I just blather it everywhere, in the time it would take to do it sparingly I could be doing something else. Probably should do it carefully at that price a can like!

Oh well I've not asked him, I just came across a website of his and noticed he did it with a spray tool. Actually...came across this video:

Which then took me to his site. He's up in the Wirral near my family but it's too far to ride on a bike this time of year I think.

Get a can and do it your self then .
A brush ,rag ,gloves and overalls not going to break the bank .
Don't get it on the brakes as it seeps every where.
use the rag you wipped your other parts to treat callipers .
Oh it best to run up your bike in a well ventilated area to burn of the over spray .
