Good for you, I hope that it is enjoyed.

I like the Kindle format because it allows unpublished writers to get their work out there into circulation, also there are a great deal of fabulous old classics that are free of charge. If money were no object, I would have a Kindle rather than the Chromebook.

The only issue I currently have with e-readers is the light, being an insomniac I will read until dawn on a bad night which is great for me, but the other half says that the light from the chrome book disturbs her sleep. Another good reason to get a small e-reader.

My best move recently though, was signing up to Kindle Unlimited. For £7.99 a month I can read books for free. You can 'borrow' up to ten books at a time, and once read, just remove them. I'm just working through a 17 volume Fantasy series that would have cost me over £40 to buy.
Look who's here! Hiya shorty, how's you?

Bought my wife a Kobo last year. They are quite basic and the screen isn't as good.

All good thanks. Father Christmas doesn't exist, the mighty bank card/wallet/purse is the new belief system!

I was bought 3 books for my birthday. And I've bought books as gifts many times. This is where the ereader fails as you can't choose and give a book as a gift or lend a book you love to a friend in the same way.

Daughter has a kindle. Waste of time. or probably my frustration with it. as I couldn't find a way to download all my pdf and epub books without "conversion" to mobi. and the conversions were not reliable. pdfs were at time unreadable.

One advantage of the Kindle is that it will read Mobo format. I downloaded about 50 free books from the web in mobo and other formats to my PC and used Calibre on the PC to convert those that weren't in mobo format.

I then plugged the Kindle by usb into the PC which considered it as an external drive. I then copied the books onto the Kindle.
