Back in the land of the working tomorrow, couple days a week for a few weeks via an agency but the employer is keen to take on full time. (interviewed directly by them today)

GOTD: I can't figure out a reasonable cycle commute to it

Good luck with the role Chris.

My GOTD is directors that want you to be a mind reader. "Make me a dashboard for the entire programme, you know what I need". No I don't. I told them I'd draft up my suggestion that we could then adapt if there were any additional requirements. Apparently I am completely wrong and I should just "fix it". And apparently I refused to look at an example I had been offered two months ago. What example?

There really seems to be a lot of S's that are getting stripped, having a set of Renthal copies chucked on and a headlight conversion.
Surely for the survival of the species it would be better to sell the S to fund the purchase of a N .... I can't be on my own, surely a bit of research before spending money would tell you if the S was the bike for you or not ???

or there are people like me who liked the faired version but hated the riding position so chucked a CNC yoke and bars on and laughed as he rode past new bike shops. the bike is fully Naked now and its keeping my speed down to sane levels. or it would do if i put it back on the road

My K6S was only the half-faired model but I was surprised at how effective the fairing was at keeping windblast off. On more open, faster roads it was all too easy for speed to creep up deceptively well into the 80s and beyond as the bike and riding position was very comfortable at those speeds.

On my Gen 3 it's fine up to 75ish for long stretches, but beyond that the buffeting gets tiring very quickly unless it's a flat calm day or a tailwind.

Looks great Bibio. I liked it before so was expecting to be disappointed but that looks good.

Gripe of the day

Why are all builders cnuts. Or rather , too busy and in short supply apparently.

Had about 10 out to quote on quite a big job, not a single one got a price back or will answer the phone. I'd rather they just say they're too busy, not able to etc. rather than act keen and say I'll get you a price next week.

Having the same trouble. Been trying to get a quote for an extension for about a month. "Sure mate, send us the plans" and that's the only time you hear from them.

all to do with time and money. lots of small jobs that take half to a day billed out at 20%+ more add up to more than a big job costed out for a week.

right now everyone is chasing their tails picking up from where they left off before lockdown. a lot of this work was money up front which has been spent so they have to get 'in between' work to make money while they finish off the backlog.

life is good for tradesmen right now, too good so they dont have much time to quote for new work or can be very picky about what they want to do.

one of the mates goes out at 7am and is not back till 8pm+ 7 days as everyone wants it done yesterday.

and the cost of materials has gone up and is a bit sporadic so quoting for jobs is a nightmare especially big ones.
