The Michelin map gives the closure dates of the main cols in a normal year due to snow so that can be used as a guide and the date/route of the Tour is also a known factor. I have done the Route de Haute Alpes a few times in early June with no snow on the road if that helps. I imagine late May would be touch and go. Great ride.
Isn't too difficult to plan, as the main Tour route & climbs are published well in advance.

You can avoid the cols which are included in this years tour

TDF site has the route & the route profile so you can see which climbs are being used & which might be under repair before the Tour

Wow! Why the hell am I only seeing this now? Great videos Lenny Did you post them on Frain? (can't remember seeing them before). I might have to quit my job to come and join you boys this summer! Absolutely Epic, can't remember one car going in our direction for that whole stretch in the first video. Brilliant!

Pretty sure I sent you the link before. Was an epic trip, did you ever manage to get any footage?

I did and some good stuff too, but frankly lost the motivation to trawl through the editing. I'll probably post something before you guys set off, and make myself even more unhappy! Gutted is an understatement.
