So then, any updates? It has been a while...

48 hours ago I'd have posted that there's been no progress on the SV.

2 reasons for the lack of progress.

1. I've been working on a different project.

This....

...jamming a 1098 superbike engine into my old air cooled Multistrada. Turned out to be a bit more of an undertaking than anticipated as I've had to fabricate a fuel tank from scratch for it.

2. With 9 points on my driving license, and it being essential I can drive for work, motorbike riding has had to take a back seat until some points drop off (6 points go next June) so I've been getting back into pedal powered 2 wheels....

...given I live in the Peak District it's not as if I'm short of places to ride.

However, purely by coincidence a mate who I'd asked to do some machining of offset steerer stems, swingarm adjuster inserts and other bits over a year ago - with the admonition that I was in no rush - has nearly finished everything....

Oooh, nice bikes.

I am an ex climber and spent many happy (although occasionally terrified) hours in the Peak district, sadly I never managed to get my MTB there.

I look forwards to the next exciting instalment in the story.

Well, it has been another three years? What happened in the end?

Yes, it really would. I loved the engineering of this one and often wished that I had that level of skill myself. I shall instead stick to Lego!

Awww, I have not really been away, life just got complicated and before I knew many, many months had passed me by! Basically, I got stuck into Disney Plus and being a Nerd... Well, you can imagine!

The SV is still sitting in boxes in my storage unit, untouched for nearly 3 years now.

My time has been taken up with getting the Multistretta finished. Spent two years hand building an aluminium fuel tank...

...and a carbon fibre air box...

But it's all built now...

...and was on the dyno last week...

...where it ended up making a respectable 162bhp and 92lb/ft.

MOT later this week and then put some miles on it.

I can't see the SV getting touched for some time yet. The Ducati was supposed to be a quick project but, for a variety of reasons, ended up taking 4 years. The SV is a long term project, which means it is going to take a looooong time to finish and my wife wants us to move house before I start on a project that isn't house related....

Very nice indeed, and 92lb-ft makes it a bit of a torque monster
