Is there a welsh variant then ? I know about the reivers tbh most of my ancestors were hung for sheep stealing until they moved from Dumfries and annan and kirkudbright up to coatbridge and bellshill.

The Northwest Alliance does it for me.

(I even did my best Darth Vader impression to mrs Bluepete. Apparently, that's what I sound like with my helmet on!)

I live in the Northwest, the top of Wales is the to the North of the rest of Wales, all of the proposed area is to the West of the country, therefore, we are in the North West. Plus "The vaguely North of Watford gap, and just a bit to the left of the Pennines, oh and the top bit of Wales.............. Alliance" just doen't have that ring to it.

Tim, hope that has you told!

Once you guys are settled on a name, if somebody lets me or TSM know then we'll get this sorted out for you.

North wales is North Wales it aint the North West, Nor is Shropshire. I aint the geographically challenged one. As my reference as to what is the North West I point you at the goverments definition in their use of the term "North West".

Using the term to describe a group that includes North Wales and Shropshire is misleading and fails to include the two largest areas of the "North West".

I guess you don't like my original suggestion. I was never a fan of the Pennine Massive" as it lacked imagination. So how about the you call yourselves "Brunstrum Bait"

Which two of the largest areas have we failed to include? merseyside and manchester purhaps? both of which are included we have members from both! seriously tim lets keep this light hearted at the end of the day most of the members are from the northwest! northwales is indeed northwest weither the government says so or not!! brunstrum bait doesnt cater for anyone who isnt in wales! At the end of the day when the names are in say put a deadline of the end of the week on it! then we can shortlist them then have a vote on it!! democracy wins! no offence intended tim
